ISC stands for Item Standardization Code. The code represents the item standardization decision on individual items. Decisions are based on the rules and procedures established in the National Standardization Manual. In Haystack, the ISC column allows users to view a stock number's ISC code and quickly identify items that are suitable for procurement. Items that have 3 or E as the ISC code are additionally highlighted in pink to immediately show that the item is not authorized for procurement.
When you hover your mouse over the ISC link at the top of the column, a Tool Tip is displayed with a definition for the acronym.
When you click the actual code for an item, for example 5, the definition for that code is displayed.
