A Federal Item Identification Guide (FIIG) codes relate to guides such as handbooks that prescribe standard requirements and formats for identifying an item of supply by those characteristics necessary to differentiate it from any other item of supply. FIIG codes establish a means to the Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS) data file.
At present, the government is retiring FIIG codes and using Item Identification Guides (IIGs) as replacement. You can access IIG codes by clicking the links under the INC heading in Segment A of FLIS Header.
